Two road improvement projects at Bulatan Pujut 3 in Miri, involving the construction of a traffic light intersection and road expansion, aim to alleviate severe congestion, particularly during peak hours.
The proposal includes upgrading the existing roundabout to a signalized intersection and widening the road from Saberkas/Pujut Roundabout to Pujut 7 Intersection from four to six lanes over three kilometers.
This road serves as a crucial artery for residents traveling from various areas to Miri city. The project, approved under the Fourth Rolling Plan of the Twelfth Malaysia Plan, focuses on land survey and soil investigation with an estimated cost of RM1.23 million.
Menteri Kerja Raya Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi inspected both projects, emphasizing the need for these upgrades due to rapid development in the area causing increased traffic that the current roundabout cannot handle efficiently.
