Sarawak to Launch Student Card for Attendance Monitoring

Sarawak to Introduce Student Card for Attendance Tracking.

The Sarawak Ministry of Education, Innovation, and Talent Development (MEITD) will roll out a student card to enhance education quality through better monitoring systems.

This card, which will be distributed to secondary school students statewide, is designed to track attendance and elevate educational standards. Accompanying this initiative is a mobile app that incorporates technology and management tools, including QR code scanning, attendance tracking, system registration, data monitoring, and reporting functions.

As part of the Sarawak Education Enhancement Plan (SEEP), the initiative aims to streamline teaching supervision and improve learning outcomes through digital solutions.

The student card’s main purpose is to track student attendance, promoting consistent and stable learning. Furthermore, the system will store data related to tutoring services by teachers and other student information, allowing real-time monitoring.

Additionally, the card will enable data tracking and reporting, with all information regularly shared with MEITD, the Sarawak Foundation, and the Sarawak State Education Department to ensure accuracy and transparency.
