MCC Installs Solar CCTV to Catch Illegal Dumpers
Miri City Council (MCC) has installed CCTV cameras at large rubbish collection points along the route from Phase 1 of Desa Pujut Permyjaya to Phase 5 of Tudan Resettlement Scheme to monitor and curb illegal dumping.
MCC aims to identify and take action against offenders through these cameras. However, some residents remain skeptical about their effectiveness, questioning whether authorities will strictly monitor footage and enforce penalties such as fines against illegal dumpers.
Two solar-powered cameras have been installed at the site, which has long been a hotspot for irresponsible waste disposal, affecting both cleanliness and nearby residents.
