A Company Gifted 37 Employees Each a Luxury Car

A company gifted 37 employees a luxury car each, totaling over RM6 million.

A petroleum services group in Yantai, Shandong, China, spent over RMB 10 million (approximately RM6.06 million) to purchase 37 BMWs, BYDs, and other luxury cars as rewards to recognize outstanding employees.

Since the establishment of the “Golden Key Award” in 2008, the company has rewarded 561 employees with cars, amounting to a total value of RMB 93 million (approximately RM56.38 million). The group’s management stated that year-end bonuses would also be distributed based on performance.

The company, headquartered in Laishan District, Yantai, specializes in high-end equipment manufacturing, oil and gas engineering and services, oilfield development, new energy, and environmental management.

The latest award ceremony was held on January 23 at the Yantai Tourism World Plaza. The prizes included BMW X1s, XPeng P7+ models, and BYD Seals, allowing employees to choose their preferred model.

Notably, the group has been awarding BMW models for six consecutive years since 2018, with a total of 210 BMWs distributed. Awardees include employees from R&D, sales, after-sales service, procurement, and other departments.

One of the awardees, Ms. Xu, shared that the “Golden Key Award” was created to reward employees who excel in their roles and contribute significantly to the company’s growth.
