A foreign woman visiting Japan found a strange man hiding under her hotel bed.
She had smelled something odd in her APA hotel room and checked under the bed, only to see an Asian man staring at her for three seconds before screaming and running away. The woman screamed too and called the police. They found a power bank and USB left behind, but the hotel claimed they had no security cameras, so the man was never caught.
The woman, “natalisi_taksisi,” said she paid $600 USD for three nights but only got $168 refunded from the booking site. The hotel refused further compensation.
After the story spread, many people expressed fear and shared similar experiences of strange smells in APA hotels. Some even canceled upcoming bookings. Others suspected the man could have been a hotel staff member since hotel key cards are usually controlled internally, and criticized the hotel for allegedly hiding the truth.
