MySejahtera Registration Begins on February 14
Malaysia’s Free Flu Vaccination Program for Seniors
Deputy Health Minister Datuk Lukanisman has announced that Malaysia’s free flu vaccination program for senior citizens will commence on February 18, with registration opening via MySejahtera on February 14 for those who qualify.
170,000 Seniors to Benefit
The nationwide initiative will provide complimentary flu shots at selected government clinics for Malaysians aged 60 and above who meet the eligibility criteria. An estimated 170,000 seniors are expected to benefit from the program.
Encouraging Private Sector Involvement
Given the limited vaccine supply, the Ministry of Health (MOH) is urging private healthcare providers and state governments to support flu vaccination efforts, similar to the initiatives taken to expand COVID-19 vaccinations during the pandemic.
As per a January 24 directive from Health Director-General Datuk Muhammad Radzi, the program will be exclusively conducted at designated government clinics, with vaccines distributed at the state level before being allocated to vaccination sites.
Priority will be given to healthcare workers and seniors with comorbidities, ensuring high-risk individuals receive early protection.
