Malaysia Diesel increased to RM3.35/ litre

Starting Monday (June 10), diesel prices in the peninsula will be floated at RM3.35 per litre, according to Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan.

The previous price of RM2.15 per litre will remain for Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan. The Finance Minister II explained that the decision aims to prevent economic losses and curb leakages.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that diesel subsidies would be withdrawn for the wealthy and foreigners, initially in the peninsula and later in Sabah and Sarawak, saving RM4 billion annually. Subsidies will continue for diesel-powered commercial vehicles, public transportation, certain fishermen, and eligible private vehicle owners.
