The minimum wage in Malaysia will rise to RM1,700 starting February 1, 2025, up from the current RM1,500. Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar announced this change during the presentation of the 2025 Budget in the House of Representatives.
He mentioned that employers with fewer than five employees will receive a six-month grace period, meaning the new wage will take effect for them on August 1, 2025.
