Miri Marathon 2025 Road Closures Info– Please Take Note
Some roads in Miri will be partially closed this Sunday (April 13) for the Miri Marathon 2025.
According to Miri police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, the closures are needed to keep runners safe and to help the event run smoothly.
Road closures and traffic diversions will start as early as 12:01am and will last until the marathon ends.
Roads affected include Bulatan Kipas, Jalan Bulan Sabit, Bulatan Pujut 3 (GK Roundabout), Lutong traffic lights, Saberkas flyover, Parkson junction, Jalan Kubu junction, Marriott roundabout, Jalan Tanjung Lobang, Jalan Luak, Jalan Bakam (up to Luak Esplanade), and Jalan Merdu junction.
There will also be diversions at major junctions and roundabouts along the marathon route, such as Jalan Sehati/Jalan Sukan, Bulatan Saberkas, Pujut 7, Bulatan Sehati, Bulatan Puchong, Brighton junction, Jalan Marina Utama, Bulatan Pullman, and several city centre spots including Ambank, Maybank, Mega Hotel, Jalan Sylvia, Jalan Brooke, and Jalan Kingsway.
Drivers are advised to take other routes to avoid traffic jams.
• If you’re coming from Permyjaya or Senadin, use Jalan Miri Bypass.
• If you’re from Lutong, use Jalan Piasau Camp to reach Jalan Krokop.
• From Lambir, Taman Tunku, or Miri Airport, continue on Jalan Miri-Bintulu until the Bintang Megamall traffic lights.
Please do not park your vehicles by the roadside to keep traffic flowing smoothly.
