Sarawak Government to Officially Acquire Affin Bank on Friday

According to reliable reports, the Sarawak government is set to officially acquire shares in Affin Bank Berhad on the 27th of this month (Oct 2024). This transaction will make the Sarawak government the largest shareholder in Affin Bank, holding approximately 30% of the shares.

The agreement was signed on September 21 in Kuching between Sarawak Chief Minister Abang Johari and the Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT), along with Boustead Holdings Berhad.

Prior to the announcement of the acquisition, Affin Bank’s stock price had already seen a significant increase.
