Sarawak has been chosen to host the 2024 Malaysia Games, which will consist of 28 mandatory sports and four additional sports that are optional.
The 28 required sports for the event include activities are swimming, weightlifting, badminton, cycling, gymnastics, golf, fencing, archery, shooting, athletics, sailing, hockey, judo, table tennis, taekwondo, karate, lawn bowls, tenpin bowling, silat, takraw, squash, wushu, football, rugby, netball, basketball, volleyball, and tennis. Sarawak has decided to include boxing, muay Thai, petanque, and esports as the optional sports, which must have participation from at least six states.
