Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced talks with the Philippine government to supply electricity from Sarawak.
“Sarawak aims to become an ASEAN energy hub, benefiting the Philippines through connections via Sabah and Indonesia’s new capital, Nusantara,” he said during an event in Kuala Lumpur.
Anwar added that Sarawak plans to use undersea cables this year to export electricity, including to Singapore. Efforts are also underway to connect Sarawak’s power to Sabah, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
