Sarawak Will Have Its Own Airline soon In just Two more Months

Sarawak Chief Minister Abang Johari stated that the state government’s acquisition of an airline is expected to be completed by the end of this year, with operations set to begin next year. He expressed hope that Sarawakians living in Peninsular Malaysia will be able to fly home with the new airline for family reunions.

“The airline acquisition is anticipated to be finalized within two months, allowing us to have our own airline. This will enable residents to travel to Peninsular Malaysia at reasonable fares and also attract more tourists,” he said.

He emphasized that having its own airline is crucial for enhancing Sarawak’s position in the aviation sector and expanding economic opportunities.

“Sarawak boasts many excellent attractions, including two UNESCO World Heritage sites: Mulu National Park and Niah National Park, which will help draw and facilitate tourists,” he added.

Abang Johari announced this news at a dinner event in Kuala Lumpur with Sarawakians from Peninsular Malaysia.
