The Marudi Bridge, costing RM116.5 million, officially opened today(10Nov 2024), significantly enhancing connectivity for Baram, especially Marudi. With this bridge, ferry services for Baram travelers will end, and it paves the way for more infrastructure projects.

The construction of the 740-meter bridge began on October 20, 2022, and was finished by October 18, 2024.

Upcoming developments include new roads to improve travel between Miri and Marudi, shorten the distance, and connect additional areas. Key projects include a 76 km road to Mulu, a 26 km stretch from Long Panai to Long Lama, and the Sabah-Sarawak Link Road (SSLR) Phase Two. Local leaders highlighted future plans for Marudi, including waterfront projects, new hotels, and additional roads to increase regional connectivity.
